You are one of the Penitent Gardeners, crewing an armoured steam locomotive through the ruins of a frozen empire: scavenging what the frost left behind, feeding the boiler, and fighting what the Emperor's pact with the Void brought back. FakeFish — the Finnish studio behind Barotrauma — is building it in Unreal Engine 5 for PC, with Early Access planned for 2026 and co-op for one to four players.

What the demo actually contains

The official demo graphic lists four verbs, and they are an accurate summary of the loop: explore 3 areas, conduct your train, scavenge and craft, fight revenants. One locomotive, three areas, settlements to strip, stations that turn scrap into gear, and Revenants that hunt you the moment you leave the heated cabins.

It runs during Steam Next Fest from 19 to 26 October 2026 and is free — you install the separate Frostrail Demo app, not the full game. Languages: English, French, German, Portuguese (Brazilian), Russian, Spanish, Simplified Chinese.

What this site will not do

No codes: Frostrail has no code system, no redeem field, and no key entry anywhere. No tier lists either — ranking weapons off a three-area slice of an unfinished build would be a guess dressed up as data.
